    Siri for Android?

Is there some sort of app I can install on my S3 to resemble Siri on the iPhone? Ive grown so dependant on it that it would be nice if I could use it on my Android as well, in case my iPhone dies. Thanks

There are many alternatives, but Vlingo is the best one I've tried

Root your S3 and get Google Now. Better than Siri. Vlingo is a good alternative but Google Now is amazing.

Haven't heard of it. Does it work on Gingerbread or is it just for ICS devices?

I haven't heard of Google Now and since I need to root my device, I think I'll pass.
I've always been cautious for rooting my phone, but it seems there are so many benefits..

Try Vlingo then. It's pretty good for a free app. Or you can use the Google Voice search that comes w/your phone. Even that works pretty well.

I've just downloaded and will test it tomorrow and come back with results.
The default Google Voice tool is alright, but it just does search engine searches, unlike Siri which allows you to pretty much speak to a different person and tell it what to do.

Thanks for all the suggestions!!!! Its much appreciated I think ill give vlingo a try as I really dont know much about Androids...My S3 is just used as a wifi hotspot since I got it for $15 a month umlimited data. I really dont want to root it for that reason. I can jailbreak any iDevice with my eyes closed but I dont know enough about the android just yet to take that plunge
