Thread: Hasbro sues ASUS over the "Transformer" name

ASUS forgot to open one present under the tree, and once they opened it, it was a friendly gift, stating that Hasbro has filed a trademark lawsuit against ASUS and the Transformer Prime tablet.

In "Transformers", the movie, the leader is Optimus Prime. This team of robots was lead by another character known as Rodimus Prime. Therefore, the next series was named Transformers: Prime

Hasbro told paidContent:

Hasbro continues to aggressively protect its brands and products and the specific actions we are taking today against Asus underscores yet again Hasbro’s willingness to pursue companies who misappropriate our intellectual property for their own financial gain.

Hasbro looks to hault sales of the Transformer Prime and is seeking damages.

Terrible idea. Seems like Hasbro is trying to control anything with the name "Transformer" these days. Stupid.

But if you're ASUS, you had to see this coming. So why not just pick a different name?

Surely now though Hasbro would have to sue Household manufacturers and electric companies for there "transformers."
