Thread: Galaxy Tab will be getting ICS with a "Lite" version of Touchwiz; Galaxy S may not

Samsung has just announced that they will be delivering the "Value Pack Lite" version to the Galaxy Tab, and the Galaxy S: not so much.

Samsung explains that due to the hardware limitations, the Galaxy Tab Value Pack update will have a "lite" version of TouchWiz, but the full Ice Cream Sandwich experience will still be included! +1 for Samsung doing this, now can they do this for all high-end devices please?

This confirms that both the Galaxy Tab will be getting Ice Cream Sandwich, along with a lite version of Touchwiz, but what about the Galaxy S? Samsung spokesperson said that due to hardware limitations, it will not receive the Ice Cream Sandwich update. Samsung was also considering doing a full release of Ice Cream Sandwich with full Touchwiz, but ended warranty support for the devices. Samsung ditched that idea after explaining that it expected a lot of backfire from is customers for the decision. Ya think?
